The Polish Pit

My first visit here was great however, I did inquire about their Sunday polish parties and the employees assured me that I could purchase a groupon and show up on the Sundays at 1:30pm. I did reach out to the vendor multiple times to schedule an apt. just in case but neither of their numbers were ever answered by a real person. On the website, an appointment can't be scheduled with a groupon voucher.
I showed up to the business on Sunday, June 4th at 12:40pm, it wasn't opened. I waited until 1:40pm and they never opened. I then contacted groupon who said they would contact the vendor and they should be in touch within 72hours. I waited 7 days and got no response. I paid $51 for a non-refundable Groupon.
Customer Service is key and I, as a consumer, should not have to put in this much effort to schedule an appointment. Get. It. Together.

Decides to do a day with the girls and May some nail polish. It was a really intimate space.
It is set-up within a store (very NY), but makes it feel more like a personal experience. "B" was the instructor and helped us a lot.she was very sweet and full of energy. I recommend this place to my friends.

I came for a private event on a Saturday evening. It was a great deal it was 30 dollars and you get to make three nail polishes. It definitely is an interesting concept. I am going to say the owner was having an off night based on others reviews but when I came she was rather rude with limited customer service ability. That ruined the experience for me. This was the same experience all ten of us had. The assistant on the other hand was very helpful and was able to tell me about other events they hold there for example they have a happy hour during the week and a ladies night. Making your Polish was very simple. For one of my colors I chose a glow and the dark one or black Light. I tried it for this glow party event and it does not glow in the dark or under a black light sadly.

I had a make your own polish party for my birthday in July 2016. Owner was very communicative from the start to finish of my party and refreshments and drinks served were more than adequate and my friends really enjoyed the experience because it was different and it was unique. Place is kind of small due to the location it shares with a shoe repair and shoeshine service but other than that everything was well planned and we all had a great time.

I have four kids and taught thousands over the course of two decades, and even I was impressed by how professional and engaging Shae and her staff were. They totally get that this is more than a drop in purchase, it's an experience. They were attentive, their directions were easy to follow, and my daughter, who is blase about just about everything, was so impressed and thrilled with the final result. I would definitely recommend any and all of their services and am thrilled to be able to report that their materials are eco-friendly, cruelty free, and free of harmful contents!

A side note for those who might be concerned about the handful of negative reviews: yes, the Polish Pit is a small, woman-owned business that shares space and keeps its hours according to its customers' needs. However, I have referred several parents for kids' parties and one friend for a divorce party, and I have received nothing but positive feedback from all of them regarding their interactions with the Pit's staff. Also, let's be real - this is TriBeCa! Space is limited and expensive. My advice to you is to give Shae a call and drop by to see for yourself that there is ample space for the kinds of events offered. You will not be disappointed.

This might be the coolest thing ever! The online booking process was a bit confusing, but it was rectified the morning of my appointment and I was still able to do what I intended on scheduling. I recommend calling instead of booking online.

It is a really small space, but that makes it more fun because you can interact with other patrons during your experience. I did unlimited mixing, which I recommend. There is no reason to limit yourself to the endless amount of colors you are allowed to mix and also the add-ins. I had such a great time with "B" and she was full of pep and energy during my entire visit.

Such a fun experience!!! We went me and my daughter and we had the best time! We made our own nail polish chose our colors we really enjoyed this hour and half of fun time together. With great customer service! we will definitely be back again soon!

Definitely a great ladies night with the polish pit.While you sip and chat with some great ladies mix up your colors and get to shaking up to see how well your mixture came together.Looking forward to planning another trip with my girls.Great job Shae

From the minute we walked in, Shay and Natalie treated us like friends. The store is so cute and I can't wait to go back. My sister, my daughter and I went to celebrate my birthday and this was probably the best part of my special day. Their instruction and assistance was fabulous; they both helped us every step of the way. The process was fun and the finished product even better than expected. And we made it ourselves!

I love the Polish Pit!!! Came here last night for a ladies night event they hosted and I got to mix my own nail polish colors!! Super unique idea; an experience that my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed! Took a little bit to get my color the way I wanted it but the owner, Shay was so helpful and very professional. She went out of her way to make sure I was completely satisfied with my polish (I am)!!! Michaela was super sweet and helpful as well! This is a great idea for birthday parties, ladies nights, spa days, etc. I will definitely be back with my girls. I heard rumors of nail artists in the near future as well!! Also- they will travel to you if you want to host a nail polish party!! Nail enthusiasts and polish lovers should definitely check this place out!!
