When I picked up my framed picture, I didn't think to look at the back of it. The backing has gouge holes in three of the corners. Three of the brackets holding the four pieces of the frame are the same, while one is different. Three of the metal pieces which hold the backing in place are the same while one is different. However, it is not the same corner as the different bracket. All in all, it looks quite amateurish and is not the up to the quality I expected.

Came here to get a diploma framed and I wasn't disappointed. I wore a mask and even though no one else wore a mask, the person who worked with me did. I appreciated that, but it was pretty simple and the product came out great. It took a week, and the prices (depending on what you get) was reasonable.
If you have something special to frame, I would definitely recommend Thompson's to do it. The prices seem reasonable, depending on what you get and the service was pretty good. I'm assuming that readers are thinking that most likely what you're going to frame, it's not going to be framed again, so why not do it correctly?
So, take it from me (someone who doesn't frame a lot) Thompson's is a solid spot to get things framed. They have choices to choose from and can make your vision in your head come true.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Marita A.Sandy Springs, GA312Sep 9, 2020
I have always loved Thompson's frame and gallery. I used their services for year. Today I walked in and no one was wearing masks. They are good at what they do, but they are not taking care of their customers by not taking this very rudimentary measure that could protect the vulnerable in our community. Be aware, if you are being careful, this is not the place to go.

I purchased a piece of fine art from a gallery in Buckhead and they referred me to Thompson's to swap out the frame from a gold-silver tone to more of nickel-silver. When I arrived, I spoke with a salesman who helped me go through their frame offerings. I spent a great deal of time with him, since I had saved up for a while for this particular piece and it was meaningful as my first purchase of fine art. I was very excited when I walked into Thompson's.
When I arrived the store wasn't busy, but then it got busy. Aware of this, I specifically told the salesman that if he was busy, to leave me and I could look at the frames myself and make a decision. He said no, that he was happy to help. After a while, I decided to stay with the frame I came in with but specifically told him that I would make up for the time he spent with me in the future because I paint and had several pieces of art I wanted to frame soon.
I admit I was in Thompson's for quite a while and even showed the salesman two of my paintings on my cell, but once it got busy I was happy to have him assist other customers and, again, even mentioned this to him to demonstrate I was cognoscente of his time.
He thought I left the store, but instead I decided to browse. He then called the art gallery in Buckhead and berated them for having sent a "lady who wasted his time" and "if they were going to send someone like me in the future, to call him first". It went on and on like that for five full minutes!!
Needless to say, he was surprised when he noticed I was behind a makeshift gallery wall and had overheard the whole conversation. It was awkward, to say the least.
What started out as a joyful experience with my first piece of fine art devolved into a humiliating experience. I actually cried when I got into the car, as I haven't overheard such things since I was in the bathroom listening to a few mean girls make fun of me back in 7th grade. Yes, that is how terrible he made me feel... and I'm 40!
Still wondering why this salesmen didn't just take me up on my offer to have me browse myself and look at frames without him, as he obviously was upset enough to call the gallery and complain. So, I took my five other paintings to another frame shop and spent $800 framing them... money Thompson's would have earned.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 1 - Michelle C.Atlanta, GA03Feb 3, 2021
I have have multiple pieces framed at Thompson's. They clearly care about the finished product and are price competitive as well. I drive 40 minutes from the city to go to Thompson's specifically.

I cannot recommend Thompson's enough to anyone looking for custom framing! They are the BEST!!! My family has been going to them for years, and we have never been even slightly disappointed. They have a great selection of moulding and mats to choose from, and all of their employees are extremely personable and professional. I love everyone that works there, but Craig Thompson, the owner, is THE MAN!!
Their prices are very reasonable; they also have great clearance items and frequent specials on prints and artwork in their gallery. They have an unbeatably fast turnaround time and have always had my jobs done in less than 24 hours (even when my boss gave them over 15 large pieces and a next-day deadline). Although I work in southeast Atlanta, I make the over 30 mile drive to Thompson's anytime I need custom moulding. I love Thompson's!!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Peggy S.Roswell, GA022Aug 12, 2017
