Scott Cleven was referred by my Realtor. Both my Realtor and Scott were working against me not hearing my concerns that I had about environmental issue of possible dog feces, urine stains (carpet smelled) and carpet not stretched which was a trip hazard. Scott said inspections does not address carpets but other inspectors I talked to said inspections does include carpet issues; especially trip hazards in which he refused to note. He said those could be coffee stains. He knew it was not coffee stains so I fired him on the spot as I could not trust his judgment. He presented passive aggressive, rude, argumentative and not competent. I will not do business again with him.

Scott did a fantastic job inspecting my duplex before I bought it. I've had other inspectors in the past do a fast and sloppy job, 15 or 30 minutes and they're on to the next job. It's a problem, since inspectors get paid by how many jobs they can squeeze in. With Scott, I felt like he was inspecting as if it was his own life savings on the line. He spent hours on the property, and found problems that I know would have been missed by other inspectors. Stuff like toilets that needed to be secured to the floor. He was punctual, and courteous to the occupants. His notes were clear, and he took plenty of pictures for his report. With his report, we were able to negotiate plumbing repairs from the seller, which would have cost us close to $2,000. Scott is worth every penny, and I highly recommend him to anyone buying a house in Southeast Wisconsin.

Scott did our inspection within days of our request. He respected the COVID-19 obstacles and offered an opportunity for us to attend the inspection safely, if we chose to. (We opted not to.) He did a very thorough job at a reasonable price and provided great suggestions about the home we were purchasing. We had our report the same day as the inspection and it included clear photos of his observations along with suggestions to budget for future maintenance items. My favorite part though, were the photos he provided of the model/serial number plates for all the appliances. I was able to pull owner's manuals for all appliances. Score! Timber Ridge is highly recommended.
