The service was great! I guess the bartender had called in sick so someone was filling in. Very nice man. We got the lemon pepper wings, shimp, and a few cocktails. The ambience was very welcoming and chill.. definitely will be coming back for those wings....

Visited this nice little restaurant over the weekend & overall I would recommend trying it out due to the food and great customer service. This was my first time here; I ordered the catfish & fried shrimp platter that comes with fries and the tipsy shrimp mac & cheese.

      Pros
      * Food is SO good i.e. food temperature, taste, & cooked
      * The sauce. OMG the sauce they provide is love
      * Customer service was really good
      * No wait to be seated
      * A bit of a wait for your food but I always say if it takes some time then that means the cook is making sure your food is made well & it definitely was

      Cons
      * Parking doesn't exist if you go late and/or on the weekend
      * The chairs are wood and if you sit too long, your butt will go numb
      * Unfortunately, they don't offer substitutes or sides. I was very unpleased that I had to pay $16 for one crab cake. I ordered the catfish & fried shrimp platter but wanted to add a crab cake so that I could try it & was not made aware that I would have to pay for basically a crab cake meal for just adding on one crab cake to my platter. Wouldn't have minded if it were two crab cakes added BUT $16 for one crab cake is over kill.

The tipsy shrimp mac and cheese is addictive. Two people can share this if it isn't your entree. They provide a great size portion of food with the catfish and shrimp platter. The only suggestions to this restaurant is to allow substitutes so that first timers like myself can try the menu out without buying multiple meals and get side size portions to add onto your meal.

      Atmosphere:
Pretty small place, blue sea theming, nothing sticks out

      Food:
One of the best restaurant fries Ive ever had. They know how to season it and its delicious. The crab dip was also a delight that's fulfilling. I did not think the fried pita bread will make me full. The only complaint I would have with my crab cake sandwich is that the bread is thick and firm. It's good, but its my preference. I wish the bread was softer and thinner to go with the crab cake. Besides that, it was delicious! The prices seemed reasonable and they know how to add flavor to their seafoods

      Service:
Since I went here 30 minutes after opening, it was relatively empty. The waitress had a positive attitude and always checked on us. Did not seem tired or annoyed. She was attentive and nice.

      Overall:
I recommend this place for seafood lovers and for people who are exploring Richmond like I did. I appreciate the many local restaurants here that are close to each other. The food is as good as it sounds and looks from other yelp reviewers.

After a grand reopening the great tipsy fries are back. It looks like they have reopened with much fewer staff than before. The menu is smaller than before. No Boil bags yet and no seafood Mac and cheese. You now order on machines at the bar. I don't know if the bar it's self is open or not. We ordered a coke and water and we're given bottles. Would have been nice to get a glass of ice but might just not be able just yet. It looks like all of the food is ordered to go. We got the tipsy shrimp Po boys with tipsy fries and a side of hush puppies. The hush puppies were great. The fry's seemed off from what was originally given before the closing. The shrimp Po Boys were as good as ever. If you view the information or menu on Google the information isn't updated. I hope this place improves back to its glory days but right now it feels like we should have gotten all of this from a food truck. PS they opened almost an hour late due to the new guy (the only person working out front) then when we left we watched the same guy leave the store to walk around the block. Not sure what was going to happen if someone walked in after us.

      The tipsy fries.
Fried Shrimp Po Boy this was after a few bites.

If you're getting any of the boils- the tipsy sauce is the way to go. I find myself piling on the sauce on my seafood/corn just to be able to savor the last drop. To be fair, I'm a huge fan of garlic which seems to be one of the main ingredients of the sauce. The staff is always friendly and accommodating- after only going once the server remembered my spicy preference.

I ordered food using the DoorDash delivery app. Since then I have had to cancel my card for fraud-- I was charged 100 extra for a $26.00 order. This has led to additional attempted misuse of my card by Venmo and other apps over the past few days. The food was not worth the trouble, and the lack of care with my personal information will cause me to avoid this establishment.

I was craving a seafood boil and anted to go somewhere I had not been before. I saw that tipsy crab had a high review so I decided to try them.

When I arrived I was greeted then I sitted. After looking over the menu I decided on a drink and the love Is love bucket. The waiter was attentive during my visit. Now the drink I tried was just ok and I could've done without it. Now the boil .... Everything was great! It was juicy and tender. I would say they over a little over priced but I left stuffed. I will recommend and visit them again!

I was looking forward and so excited to have some seafood boil but this place was disappointing. Not only is parking hard to find but the food was less than subpar. The crawfish tasted old and rotten, and I had them with the spiciest sauce option which did had absolutely zero kick or fire. For the price that I paid, I expected more from this place. Although the fries were amazing, but again, very pricey for so little. Overall this place is too pricey for food that disappoints.

We were in town this weekend for Veteran's weekend, and I was excited to have some good seafood. This place seemed like a fun place with good reviews and a fun atmosphere. Online said it was open, drove down, and it was closed. I wish I could give feedback about the food, but never got to try it.

Inside is nicely decorated like a typical crab house, brown paneling and the tables are covered in protective paper for eating seafood. Service was great and we were seated right away. My family liked their food and I partially liked what I ate. The crab dip was amazing and the pita it comes with is the best I've had. The side of hush puppies is crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. I also loved the condiment they had on the side; it was more than just butter. I couldn't tell exactly what else it had in it, but it was great. If I had just gotten crab dip and hush puppies my review would be higher. However, the main entree of fried shrimp was very disappointing. It tasted like it was fried in bad or old oil. It was impossible to eat.
