Located in the heart of Cary town, this place is a must try! They do offer online ordering, so it's a good idea to go that route as it's a walk-up window place your order kind of place!
However, If you happen to just be passing by, just drop by. You'll have your order within minutes!!
I ordered 3 cupcakes, unfortunately I only got to try one of them lol. The other 2 were for friends, now I know how good they are... I might be a little selfish next time .
I had the pleasure of trying the peach Bellini. It was so moist and buttery and the frosting... OMG ! I want another one. Anyways, just got check them out for yourselves !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 6, 2022
I love cupcakes. I was super excited to try a local business that creates alcohol infused cupcakes because I have never seen that done before.
You order at a window then wait outside for your order. I do appreciate that cupcakes are made to order. However, you have to wait some time for your order and I only got two cupcakes.
I wish there was some seating with a table to enjoy the cupcakes right after ordering. I did not eat these cupcakes right after picking them up. I brought them home to share with my family. The cupcakes were in their boxes for about 3 hours before eating them. The cupcakes leaked a sticky mess through the box.
The cupcakes are flavorful but they are very moist and messy. You can taste the alcohol infused! I was shocked and impressed by this. They are strong! You need a fork, plate, and table to enjoy them. I recommend eating them immediately after purchasing otherwise they will get soggy. I will try these cupcakes again but I will eat them right after purchasing - no waiting or saving them for later.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 284114664Aug 28, 2022
I got the pina colada and the strawberry shortcake and both were good. If you live across town like I do then I would suggest eating your cupcake there as my frosting was melting on one of my cupcakes. I would definitely go back to try other flavors. Staff was friendly and the decor was simple nice

When you come to the front there is a window to order cupcakes. Place order and receive neatly packaged cupcakes. They traveled well and were easily transported. We ordered four cupcakes, the large twisted strawberry shortcake, we thought this was the best one. We also tried the boozy chocolate salted caramel which was deliciously decadent. All of our cupcakes were delicious. If you are in Carytown, try out Tipsy Cupcakes.

These are amazing cupcakes! I had both the peach Bellini and the chocolate salted caramel...yum!! The peach cupcake was the "tipsy" one, meaning it has 5% alcohol!! I could taste it, but it wasn't overpowering...just very yummy. The peach taste was very nice.
The chocolate salted caramel cupcake was non-alcoholic and also delicious. Both cupcakes were moist and a good size (not too huge but not small), which I liked.
They have a walk-up window right in the heart of Carytown, close to Kroger, and they were super friendly. I will definitely be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - N F.Richmond, VA2693639Apr 23, 2023
The cupcakes are loaded with booze hence the prices!!! But worth every penny I had an amazing birthday but the cupcakes sure did have a big part in it !!

It's a no for me! Today's visit started and ended bad. They opened an hour late, and were still late, the staff wasn't welcoming at all. It was as if they didn't want to be there. I ordered a twisted strawberry shortcake and spiked cookies and creme. Both were too sweet for my taste, but someone else may love them. The Cookies and Creme was the one I liked best. You could actually taste the alcohol in the icing, unlike the other one. The icing was super thick and IMO, the cake tasted like a boxed cake. The presentation was horrible! The strawberry wasted all over my backseat! The cupcake was huge (strawberry shortcake), but I wasn't a fan of the flavor. I try to support all small businesses, especially black businesses, but I'm not sure I'll be visiting here again.

This was my first time trying alcohol infused cupcakes and tipsy cupcakes!! I was very happy (& tipsy might I add, lightweight here) with how these came out!! I loved the spiked cookies and cream one. The virgin salted caramel was delectable and the frosting was the best part!! Only thing is it is messy so id sit down and eat it properly with some napkins!! Staff was so friendly and it's a Black owned business so go support!

Stopped by today to try some tipsy cupcakes, Yelp stating they're open until 8pm but place was locked, no lights on inside, nobody around! Knocked on the door, waited few min but nothing. So disappointed! No notes or signs that they're closed or be right back! Will not come back!

Stop the freakin' presses! Yelpworld, if you've read any of my RVA cupcake shop reviews, you'll know how disenchanted I am with what we have. Until now! BY A LANDSLIDE... A LANDSIDE, Tipsy Cupcakes are the best tasting cupcakes in Richmond!
Yes, they're infused with alcohol, but no they will not get you drunk, and no they don't taste like a cocktail. I've tasted the chocolate, pineapple, strawberry and Patron ones, and they're ALL incredible! The strawberry may be my favorite. The Patron is given a very special attention to detail with a tiny taste of salt like the rim of a margarita! Safe for kids... I think. They are required to ask for ID.
If you're like me, your icing-to-cake ratio preference is balanced. At first, I thought there wasn't enough icing on top of the cupcake. Not a problem, because there is icing INSIDE the cupcake! And the cake itself is melt-in-your-mouth moist! Seriously, how does it even stay together?
The shop itself is a cute pink and blue decor, and the ladies are all smiles and friendly.
But here are my gripes... (1) The packaging. Presentation is everything! You can have a mediocre cupcake and suddenly it tastes better because it's beautifully presented. The large cupcakes are presented in styrofoam burger boxes that will probably crush your cupcake a bit when closed completely. The smaller cupcakes, however, are presented well in a clear, plastic box that displays and preserves them well. (Wish it were a more environment-friendly recycled cardboard, though.) Also, the bags are plain plastic grocery type bags. When you spend $32 for 3 large and 1 small cupcake, you should get nice packaging. (2) The price is too high. At this price, they'll be a very special treat for most people, versus a regular indulgence.
Tipsy Cupcakes hasn't been open long, and I read somewhere that they'll be adding other items for sale (--hope it's coffee, tea and water). I'm rooting for these ladies. They had a dream and made it happen. And they have a STELLAR product.
My recommendation--try them all! I can't wait to go back and try the ones I passed on today.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
