I came here with my friend for dinner. We found this place thanks to a Groupon. Upon entry, we were greeted and offered various food options as we both haven't been to this restaurant before. My friend ordered the beef ramen and I had the seafood ramen and a fried soft shell crab.
Our food took no time to be made and was pipping hot when it arrived. I've never had a crab this way until today and it was so yummy. Our ramens were both very flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend trying it out.
The place is nice inside with very friendly folks that work there. You won't be disappointed. Order the ramen and definitely try out the soft shell crab.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Carley M.TN, TN011Nov 14, 2023
Whoever decided to change the business model, really made a horrible decision.
It is no longer full service, has half the options, and over half the offerings don't make any sense.
It's a self serve joint, with sub par food.
Look elsewhere, it's soaring downhill in this establishment.
And HOW OLD IS THIS EGG!!
This looks like it was prepared last week.
Disappointed isn't even the word.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 16, 2022
We went to Tomo for Valentine's Day because it's "our place ".
We didn't realize that it was no longer sushi and instead has turned into Poké bowl & Ramen. Although disappointed, we decided to go ahead and stay and try it since we were already there.
Instead of having servers, you have to go up to the counter and order your food, which they will bring to you when it's ready. You pick your own seat. Fortunately, they still have floor seats, which is what we always like. If you want an alcoholic beverage, you will need to go to the bar and order it.
We had the ahi tuna Poké bowl. It was fresh and delicious. We had a teriyaki Ramen, which was fine, but neither of us were thrilled with it. we will definitely go back again for the pokey bowl, but will probably skip the Ramen in the future.
It was disappointing because tomo has always been my favorite sushi place, but I'm glad we gave it a whirl and tried their new menu.
The real question is, where am I supposed to go for Great sushi now?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 4, 2022
So they need to change their offerings on Yelp because it still says sushi. When we went last night they no longer have sushi and only have hibachi, ramen and poke.
We stayed because we had a Groupon to use otherwise we probably would have gone somewhere else because we actually wanted sushi.
My husband and I got the shrimp hibachi which was good. My girls split a tempura ramen. Also pretty good.
Overall the food was fine. Basically even if you eat there it's like take out. They bring your food and you do all the clean up and put your dishes up and everything. I am guessing corona has made them change their business model so they can have as few workers as possible and have easier dishes to make.
We probably won't be back if they no longer have sushi. Hopefully they will bring it back. Until then, they should update their main offerings on their online presence.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ray D.TN, TN033Dec 23, 2022
this is the first poke we've had in Tennessee as out of towners. I was super stoked to eat here. The first time around I ordered a poke bowl with salmon, tuna and mango and it is the picture on the left. The protein portion was stingy and the flavor wasn't there.
on the second visit, i ordered the same exact thing and the bowl was exceptional! super good! so much so that I complimented the chef and left with a really good taste in my mouth literally. So it's kind of like chipotle (or anywhere really) where you're at the mercy of an employees style of preparing the food but we'll visit here again I'm just not really looking forward to it like some places.
We visited Nashville recently and the poke shop on the second floor above Hattie B's is incredible for what its worth!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linda E.LA, LA0814Apr 12, 2023
We went here for Ramen and we very happy with the taste and value of our dishes. We enjoyed a chicken ramen and pork ramen. Staff was friendly and the place is nice and clean. It was gorgeous outside so we sat out there to enjoy our meal.

The hibachi was alright but everything else was not great. I miss the old tomo, it was one of my favorite places. This new tomo is nothing like the old. It's all self serve, food was pricey for having no flavor :(

Delicious, authentic and impeccable service!! My husband and I ordered Poke bowls, which we highly recommend. After living in Hawaii it's hard to find good Pole and we were pleasantly surprised with our meals.

Tasty, fresh, healthy options for our whole family (vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and omnivore). Finding one place we all have multiple choices is a huge win! The friendly staff is a great bonus. The ramen portions are huge - we always get 2 meals out of one order. Hibachi and poke are a great single portion that leave us full but not stuffed.

Stopped in with some friends and we all got poke bowls. Super chill atmosphere, get your menu and sit wherever and then go to the front to order. Food was quick and delicious!! The price for what you get is also amazing, I got two meals out of mine. Poke is fire, tofu super good and all the veggies were fresh.
Will definitely be back many times for the poke and definitely trying the ramen next time!! So good, recommend if you're wanting some fresh, quick, but delicious and authentic cuisine.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
