Tony's shoe repair service is truly top-notch and a well-kept secret among professionals working downtown.

Over the years I've taken several pairs of heels to Tony to have the tips replaced and he's always been fast, friendly and affordable. In fact, I did visit another shoe repair business in Lexington, of which I left a review. Tony's prices beat theirs by 50%, and his customer service is far better.

I highly recommend Tony's shoe repair. Tony is a class act, 75-years-young and has a passion for his work. Stop in and meet him.

When does this place open??? Online says 8:30. Store front says 9am and I showed up at 9:45 lol there is no phone number to call and ask when a good time to drop my broken shoes and the one other place in Lexington is open two days a week when normally non elderly people are working full time jobs. Would love an answer or recommendations on where to go...you want business? Get your communication correct, pandemic or not lol shoe repairs I know are cheap so if I was a business I'd take ever cent I could. Frustrated I drove in the snow to get this done before work lol. Annoyed.

This man is a gem! I didn't think the place was open because the phone number listed was disconnected- but I came anyways based on other yelp reviews.
He did repair two pairs of shoes so well that I came back with more shoes. Brought my 11 yr old daughter who was instantly captivated by him. I came with some loud shoes that I wouldn't wear much because the hard soles were so loud on the hard floors at work. He replaced the soles with softer rubber and now I can't stop wearing them!

He's everybodies dream grandpa and I just wanted to stay all day just to hear his charming accent and look at his cool old time shop.
I will go digging through all my shoes because I love what he can do to make old shoes look great and I confess I just like him!

Tony's is absolutely open and right where it says it is, at 144 W. Short and a couple of doors down from Lexington Diner.

I walked in at 9am on a Monday morning with a tear in a nice pair of dress shoes. Tony had me take them off and have a seat, 20 minutes later they were repaired and polished. He only wanted to charge me $4 but he saved a nice pair of shoes and potential embarrassment at my meeting later that day so I paid more but he was very resistant to accept.

Super nice guy and great service.

I have taken in a few different types of shoes to have them repaired by Tony: leather boots, pumps, and wedges. He replaced the soles on the leather boots and only charged me $7.50 (if memory serves me correctly). The soles look good as new and I can continue to wear these high quality boots for years to come! The pumps only needed to have the tip replaced. I would have hated to throw out pumps that were perfect otherwise. I'm happy that I found a great repair shop. His prices are very reasonable.

His shop looks exactly how you would expect a shoe repair shop to look. It's on the corner of a street downtown, there is old equipment inside and shoes everywhere.

He had a sign up when I went in today that starting August 1st he will require prepayment on all repairs.

Pitiful customer service and also not knowledgable on even simple repairs. Started by walking in and saying hello how are you with no response, I brought in an EASY repair where he very rudely said there was nothing to do. I followed by asking if he was able to do the method that my previous shoe repair business was able to do for me and he again very rudely told me no, finally I asked him if he had a recommendation for somewhere I could take them and he walked off to continue working on other things of his without even an acknowledgment, apology or regard for the attempted customer. I must say I will never revisit and don't recommend him to anyone looking for help or just to be treated like a fellow human being.

I have known Tony since the late 70s and we think he is a gem!! He's fixed my husbands dress shoes my pumps and casual shoes and We've not one time been disappointed! Our only problem is that we wish we had more repairs for him to do he does such a thorough job. I also think it's a good idea that he has one to prepay for repairs because over the years some folks forget or just decide to not come get their items after he's already spent time and materials to repair them. His prices are so reasonable how could one object. He's also very pleasant and very intelligent with a charming accent and keen memory if you take the time to get to know him. He clearly works because he enjoys what he does and enjoys interacting with clients some of whom have become friends and close acquaintances. Give his service a try you won't be disappointed!

Very strange encounter. Brought some Cole Haan shoes in to discuss repair options. He showed me some methods to cover the bottom of the shoe (vs replace the soles). They are unique one piece soles. I wasn't sure about the cover up method and the type of rubber looked like it would get slippery after a little wear (I've had that kind before). He seemed knowledgeable about it all and said I could maybe contact the manufacturer to get the genuine Cole Haan soles. So I said ok, I'll try that.

After contacting Cole Haan, turns out they no longer have these replacement soles. So I brought the shoes back to him to give the cover up option a shot after all. No other choice.

He had just given another gentleman his shoes back and apparently did the repair for free. The gentleman wanted to pay but Tony insisted he not pay. He seemed very nice about it.

Then when it was my turn to reach the counter, he angrily said he didn't want to repair my shoes. That I brought them in before and left. I had my chance, he said. He didn't want to repair my shoes anymore, he said. No shoe repair for you! Reminded me of the Soup Nazi episode on Seinfeld. Anyway, this guy is crazy. I'm sure he's good, but definitely crazy.

Tony's has been around since I was a little girl, and I am 57 yrs. young. He is the only person I trust to repair my shoes. He knows what he is doing, and will make your shoes look as good as new. His prices are so low, that I give him a generous tip for his work. I believe he just enjoys helping others so he doesn't charge high rates.
      Love him!

Tony is super nice and does great work. I typically tip him because his prices are so reasonable. It is just him so my tip is to call ahead.
