absolutely the best in the area, no doubt about it. If you have any issues with your ac go with these guys. They are honest, quick, and have the highest value of work I have ever dealt with. Our tech Daniel and Vanessa in the office made sure all of our needs where met. after a months of dealing with other ac guys in the area like rescue rooter and others, these guys didn't try to cheat me and make a quick buck. They went above and beyond to make sure our AC was working great. The tech was the most knowledge and transparent I have ever had. He walked me through all the issues we had and showed me everything that the other companies did wrong. can't be more grateful. 10/10

I am speechless. Our heater stopped working and I simultaneously received a text from Top Gun. Today, the owner of Top Gun came to my home, gave me the best quote for my heater repair and/or replacement. I know he was sent by my God and Angels, because I had been using a different company. When you need HVAC help, call Top Gun. You will get the best response, service and price. We know how lucky we are and wanted to share our experience. Thank you Jonathan and crew.

Happy weekend, Yelpamaniacs! If you don't know by now, Yelp saves us mooooooolahhh! How? Because flying blind is expensive. Not being able to find businesses you can trust is expensive. Hiring services that are shiesty is expensive. So, coming to Yelp, to get tips from others that have been there, and done that, saves you money now, and in the long haul.
5 stars past your first 25 reviews can be an inside job, but 5 stars at almost 100? That means you are doing things right, with great consistency. In a business where no parts are cheap, every job is steep, as in the HVAC world, to see 5 stars is a feat in itself.
Well, with Top Gun, you get people like Jonathan Riddle that has your 6. (See the movie, which means covering your tail). The consumate professional. Yes, he's in it for the money, but the honest buck, no gouging. It's a Saturday, a day when AC guys are collecting first borns, skulls, ravaging, and pillaging credit cards. Take no prisoners, and Top Gun is just doing what's necessary to get you back to cool air, not in hot water.
Everything was explained to me in terms of what's needed to bare bones make it run and what they recommend to make it soar like an F16. I wanted the F16, so it was a bit extra, but disclosed up front as not required and not pushed with the hard upsell.
I have a friend and nephew who are HVAC specialists, but one lives in LA, and the other was swamped. Having a tech like Jonathan put me at ease that while I don't know him, he is in it to earn my business this time, and from here on.
So the install is Monday if the part comes in. Will update you with some sweet HVAC pics then. Believe me, when you are paying for AC repairs, parts are like buying jewelry. Might as well show off that house bling. Like yeah, ooh, look at my new capacitor, oh yes, that sexy condensor looking fine . Saaaweeet! Bling bling. And yes, ya boy rocks Nest thermostats. Don't be jelly.
BB Monday to fill you in on how the job went.
Till then, be well, be loved, stay cool , and share your Yelps. I love saving money, finding value, and good people and businesses. That starts with your Yelp reviews. Cya next Yelp.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michael L.Keller, TX269015May 24, 2023
Great experience so far.
POSITIVE:
+Super Professional
+They carry top manufacturers
+++Very patient with all my questions
+++Showed up to install rolling deep with 3 trucks and a full crew. Dudes meant business.
IN BETWEEN:
-/+Prices on par with others but I appreciate the military discount
-/+They definitely prefer American Standard but didn't give me any shit for going with Lennox
NEGATIVE:
-Left one of my 1" filters installed after putting in the 4" system in the attic. Was the one above my head and I work from home so let's just say they didn't wanna bug me while I was working.
BOTTOM LINE:
Solid performances by Jon, Daniel, Kevin, Peter, Jose, Joseph, and JesseHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alexander P.South of Market, San Francisco, CA171Sep 8, 2023
This is how to get the best service out of this company:
- Prepay for a maintenance plan that includes a single free diagnostic per unit for any time during the year
- Call them out when your AC goes out but still pay them $99 for the already paid diagnostic
- Have them come out and not even accurately diagnose the issue (definitely good sign if they don't go into the attic)
- Sit there and listen to their sales pitch telling you need to replace BOTH your systems and all components including components that are only 6 years old
- Notice that they say even their new units go out
- If you are uncertain, ask them to explain and hopefully they can explain when your transmission goes out in your car you should replace the whole car.
This will give you peace of mind. You might have spent $30k to gut perfectly good equipment, but at least you trusted them.
P.S. I did most the steps listed here and I'm highly satisfied. Thanks Top Gun
Reply to Owner: Yes I'm the idiot. I definitely didn't show the quote. Half my AC unit isn't only 6 years old. Also there is definitely no ladder to access to the attic (other AC company was even angry they could easily walk up to the attic). I definitely didn't tell John the actual issue (lack of airflow that you can feel with your hand). I'm the idiot.
Breaking from being funny: This company gave me a call and squarely agreed I paid for a diagnostic but they agreed they didn't diagnose it. They flat out lied in their reply except about their problems with new units. I in fact want to replace outside unit but I made it very clear several times that I called them out to get an accurate diagnostic so I could know what all should be replaced. I was open to replacing many parts of the system, but I'm not replacing things like my furnace that are 100% functional and only 6 years old. They had ladder access, I've been up there, other technicians have been up there. I showed John how to get access. Top Gun left us in the heat and refused to diagnose how to fix our AC besides just replacing the EVERYTHING. Also it's pretty hard to get 300k miles on a car that is only 6 years old and 100% working . Shoot and a miss! I'm the idiot for sure.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hey Alex, appreciate your feedback which allows us the opportunity to grow and be better as a company, and refine our procedures.
I’m not sure where the information came from about any kind of free diagnostic. That’s never been included in our service agreements with customers. It does include 10% off repairs, and gives you priority after hours. The $99 you paid, which was later reimbursed as a sign of good faith, was less than the $199 we charge for weekend rates. Our guys work hard in the extreme heat and need time to recover between long weekday shifts that often end late at night. That’s the reason it’s there. We arrived within two hours of taking your call that Saturday. Initially the complaint was “no cooling” the blower was operational and putting out a significant amount of air for the system size you had upstairs. However the outdoor compressor showed valve damage, and was bypassing. The pressure on the 14 year old R22 outdoor unit reflected such. You were reading 144/328. That combined with other tests indicated the compressor had failed and was not pumping effectively anymore. To this day I’m not sure I trust another companies diagnosis with this particular unit given the test we ran that demonstrated what we saw with proof. You’d mentioned you were considering replacement but wanted a sound diagnostic yes, and we discussed a multitude of ways to accomplish a partial replacement and retaining some of the new components with those replacement options. I truly feel we demonstrated an adequate desire and ability to work within your means to accommodate those requests without sacrificing efficiency or performance. However, the more we talked about system replacement the more resistant you grew to the idea. The problem was with this particular diagnostic, there wasn’t many viable repair options that would outweigh the benefit or value of replacing just the outdoor unit. I wouldn’t define it so much as a sales pitch as I would the opportunity to educate you as a consumer on all the options available to you. In regards to every aspect of what we do, including seer ratings, different models and their operation etc. we always are opposed to any kind of high pressure sales situations, especially in summer when the urgency is often born by the homeowner and the indoor conditions being what they are when it’s 110 outside. I only entertained that conversation to better serve you, since based on our findings, we were dealing with a significant problem. You had admitted you knew nothing about the systems themselves. In fact one of the first things you said when I started presenting some options was “you’re 3-4 grand higher than other quotes I received” I asked for more clarification on what the quotes entailed and we went over those in detail, so we could compare apples to apples. We ended up being the better value option, but you quickly dismissed all options stating you had new pieces of equipment and weren’t interested in replacement. At that point it is hard to move forward with any kind of sustainable long term option when the compressor replacement cost is 90% of the replacement cost and retrofitting indoor components to match the new refrigerant that they manufacture units with. So we collected 1/2 the regular weekend diagnostic rate and left you to weigh those things or gather another opinion from someone else before committing to a course of action.
Every phone call is recorded on our office line, and no agreement was ever made that we didn’t diagnose it. We spent over 2 hours on site doing such and discussing findings with you to resolve the issue. Would love the opportunity to revisit the diagnosis with you. We have seen other companies replace components with non-OEM and aftermarket parts that create more problems, but resolve a short term issue. We avoid this and only try to apply the right solution and repair when feasible. - Misty O.Grapevine, TX7592Jan 3, 2024
Friendly, speedy, reasonably priced service from my initial phone call to the same day service. Returned home from a trip to find our downstairs heating unit wasn't working. The intake call was fast and friendly, as was our technician (Justin Nichols). Pricing and service were clearly explained, never felt we were overcharged or misled in any way. Will definitely use them again when needed! And love that this is a locally- and family-owned business.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the outstanding service provided by Top Gun, specifically their technician, Austin. After a frustrating experience with another company that insisted I needed to replace my entire HVAC unit, Top Gun came to the rescue and proved their expertise with a simple yet effective fix.
Austin's professionalism and knowledge quickly put my concerns at ease. He thoroughly inspected my HVAC unit and determined that a faulty capacitor was the root cause of the issue. I was amazed that such a seemingly small component could have such a significant impact on the unit's performance.
Austin promptly replaced the capacitor, and to my delight, it resolved the problem entirely. The HVAC unit started working flawlessly, and I could feel the immediate improvement in the air quality and temperature control within my home. I was thrilled that Top Gun was able to provide an honest and cost-effective solution, saving me from unnecessary expenses of replacing the entire unit.
Throughout the entire process, Austin exhibited professionalism, expertise, and excellent customer service. He patiently explained the issue, the repair process, and even offered valuable maintenance tips to ensure the longevity of my HVAC system. His dedication to providing top-notch service was truly commendable.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Top Gun was awesome! First, Brian came out to determine what was the best option for cooling my master bedroom, with a mini split being the best option. He was very thorough and we went over the logistics of everything. The quote was 1/2 as much as the other quotes I got and the equipment was better for me. (It works with my Samsung smarter things app). Plus, they would do the electric without me having to get a third party electrician. They were ready to do the install right away!
On install day, Brian came out to get the team started and Daniel, Peter, & Jose did the install. They were all great! We had a slight change in the plans of placing the unit inside, but it ended up being better. They were professional and did an amazing job. They left no traces of work behind. At the end, Daniel did an excellent job of explaining the warranty and how to use the unit. He even took the time to test the heat aspect (it heated up super fast) and then cooled it down again. It went from like 76 to 64 in less than 10 minutes! Daniel and team are beyond the best.
I HIGHLY recommend them for all your HVAC needs, but definitely recommend them for installing mini splits for those pesky rooms that won't cool off.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dwanna P.Haltom City, TX01Feb 29, 2024
Daniel Stewart came out and had to replace the main circuit board on our Unit plus had to replace the motor in the upper unit . Very knowledgeable and professional. Made sure everything worked properly before he left. I highly recommend Top Gun. Made the call and they were very prompt on getting here and answering all the many questions I had. Pricing was not bad. Did not feel mislead on what Daniel was telling me. Very honest. Good customer satisfaction. Thanks a ton Daniel.
