Their lunch special is unbeatable!
Really love their steak pad see ew and their incredible lunch special prices. Right around the corner from NYU. The service is super quick and it's a really great place to grab lunch with some friends.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Miss A T.San Francisco, CA2738923Mar 27, 2024
I came in after a long day. I was greeted by aggressive waitresses trying to have you order more than you want. They were so rude to me and the customers especially the night I was there.
A few examples while observing during my dining experience:
1. One of them asked if she could take my plate away while I was clearly not done eating and taking a quick breather to digest.
2. Seeing a same sex couple wanting to sit at a certain table, getting declined and being asked to sit at a certain table instead.
3. seeing a party of 3 have to wait outside because their friend who was the third one was running late. It shouldn't matter especially when the friends were present and told the waitress that she's a couple minutes late.
4. Being chased by one of them demanding a tip when tipping should be what about how my overall dining experience was like. Tipping is not a requirement. It's voluntary.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

It is absolutely bias story .
First , our server is always friendly and keep checking your table if everything ok, and you are deliberately holding the table without consideration during the peak time.
Second , we are small seating restaurants and we are based on first come first serve in this location , don’t try to make story here.
Third , we never ask your trip. After I check your receipt, you leave $0.00 - Mar 23, 2024Updated review
Decided to give Top Thai another try. I ordered the lunch special, which comes with an appetizer (I chose the Thai green salad) and an entrée. I had the pad kha pow with chicken, which had Thai basil, garlic, onions, and bell peppers in a chili-basil sauce.
Definitely a better experience than last time and cemented Top Thai's place in my head as a solid quick sit-down lunch option.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Aug 24, 2023Previous reviewMy dad and I went here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We each had a bowl of the Tom yum soup. The flavor was good, but the shrimp was over-cooked. We also shared the appetizer platter. We chose the edamame, crispy chicken dumplings, and roti massaman. All good options; nothing really outstanding.
Not a bad spot for a quick lunch. I'd give 3.5 stars if possible. I would recommend getting the lunch special during a week day. We didn't, and I thought the prices were a bit inflated. - Dec 3, 2023
NYC has absolutely no shortage of bomb Thai cuisine. My friend and I were trying to find a spot for a casual late dinner on a Monday evening, and I'm grateful we found Top Thai. It has a small interior, and I was pretty surprised with how it was relatively busy on a Monday, but grateful there wasn't a wait!
The happy hour is amazing here! They have such a great assortment of fun, fruity and appetizing cocktails, and they were pretty much doing happy hour until closing. So of course, we both got Lychee cocktails (I got the Bellini and my friend got the Soju cocktail). Both were delicious -- and the owner also gave us a shot as we were finishing up our meal LOL.
The food here is the big star. I had the Duck Panang Curry, and this was phenomenal. I was blown away by the depth of flavor in the curry, and how crispy the duck was. They definitely did not skimp out on the portions as well. My friend got Pineapple Fried Rice with shrimp and that was a very decent portion as well.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Danny H.Hercules, CA064Apr 28, 2024
Food was amazing 2nd time there but will be my last. Had the most uncomfortable and rude experience at the end of our service with the waitress. I write the check and tipped for table of two of us. Waitress comes back and suggested 18% hard. She looked at us dead serious and was pressing the 18% or more tip to the point where she forced me to tip 18%. Crazy, I couldn't believe it. I never write bad reviews but tips aren't mandatory, some people don't even tip. She refilled our waters once, that's it. I'll gladly tip for amazing service. We were there for 15 minutes for a $80 bill.

The environment is phenomenal. O was extremely wonderful, knowledgeable, and kind. He helped us decide what to order & was so incredibly pleasant.
We had;
Crispy duck
Pad see ew
Top Thai curry
Pad kha pow
Massamun curry
And many appetizers.
Everything was extremely fresh and flavorful. This was hands down the best Thai we have ever had. We surely will be retuning next time we are in NYC!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 633674Feb 11, 2024
I recently dined on a Saturday night and it was a delightful experience. The menu offered a fantastic selection of Thai dishes. The staff were friendly and accommodating, providing excellent recommendations. Despite the small space, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant.

My favorite Thai place in the area!
It's always bustling, but the wait is not usually too long because they have lots of tables. Service can be a bit slower because the staff are quite busy with so many customers.
My favorite dishes are the spicy basil fried rice and the chicken pad thai - all the food is very authentic and comes out so fresh. The flavors blend together so well, and they have pretty big portion sizes. I also love their thai iced tea!
Overall I would recommend! The dishes are on the pricier side, but I think it's worth it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 28, 2023Previous reviewMy favorite thai place!! Super cozy place for casual lunch or dinner.
The dumpling appetizers are soo yummy! I usually get the chicken pad thai, which is delicious, and comes in a cute small pan. Good portion sizes too. The thai iced tea is my absolute favorite, be sure to ask for tapioca pearls with it!
Service is good, can get somewhat crowded during rush hours. - Feb 11, 2024
The food was honestly good but the lady working there was not the kindest and she urged us to get drinks and then kept asking us if we were done when clearly we were still eating. Might have been a one time experience because they were packed and busy when I went

Top Thai is a usual for me every time I am in the area. It is certified halal and the quality is really good. The basil udon noodles is a unique dish you don't really find at many other Thai restaurants. The skirt steak slaps (highly recommend) and the spring rolls are my go to appetizer. The service is typically pretty fast (food doesn't take long to come out), however both locations are busy and a bit chaotic at times. Other than that, solid dinner choice! Shout out to Mariam at the Sullivan St location, she was awesome :)

Thank you so much For your great review. Thank you for supporting local business again.
Dec 24, 2020Previous reviewVery good Thai spot that is actually halal! So rare - and speaking of, their steak is amazing! As was pretty much everything else we had! They have a dumpling combo appetizer that comes with chicken, shrimp and veggies. Their crab wantons were also really good. Their pad Thai is definitely one of the best I've had - they really nailed the ratio of sauce to noodle LOL. They had a hut type of outdoor seating with heaters so all things considered, it was a functional dinner. I will definitely be coming back here! Also, this might be promotional but I believe they take off 10% if you pay with cash just as an FYI!
