Ugly Ductling

I got one of my units cleaned, I picked this company from a review on a Facebook page I'm apart of. I am sad with the quality of work that occurred. Vent cleaning isn't the cleanest job, but my unit is covered in a black carbon like dust. I now need professional cleaners to clean the unit again.
I used a different company before and never had this issue with the amount of dust and or residue left behind (the individual retired). The materials used this time looked way different then the first company and blew more dust into the air then into a vacuume. It took less than 2 hrs, but felt like more harm then cleaning occurred.

To put into perspective redoing hardwood floors is a cleaner after result.

Armed with a portable vacuum and a leaf blower to treat a 13 unit condo. Worst of all vendors in my 20 years living here. Flexible duct was not detached from dryer and cleaned per proposal. Tech told us we had to call Stanley Steemer for that service.
Paid 895.00 for tech to vacuum out dryer drum and lint catch on 13 dryers. Comes out to almost $70 a dryer. What a racket. Didn't even clean the exit vent. See photo. Called Karl, the owner, to voice my concern. He said he'd look into it and call me the next day. That was a week ago. The best part was when the tech first arrived. Before he started any work, he said, although it's optional, tips would be appreciated. Good luck.

Excellent price, really friendly technicians, they also showed me how to clean out my dryer vent myself to avoid paying extra money in the future! Highly recommend them for their quality of work and their friendly service!

Three man team was done in less than an hour for 2 hvac systems. We were surprised how fast they were. They brought shop vac and hand held vacuums to suck the vents. They didn't remove the vent covers to clean the vents either. Easy appointment and they were able to get us in during the same week. We had renovation work done around the house prior to them coming so we needed our ducts cleaned from all the sanding and construction work.

Two weeks after our ducts were cleaned one of our hvac started leaking water. We had a contractor come take a look for repair. One of the guys from Ugly Ductling did not put the air filter in properly causing the system to have no air flow; which caused the leak. During the repairs we were informed the ducts still had lots of dirty stuff. It wasn't cleaned. And the air filter that Ugly Ductling put in had lots of dirty dusts on it already; given it's only been 2 weeks! This led us to think the air duct cleaning wasn't a good job since it was done in less than an hour for 2 hvac systems. Also costed our hvac system to leak water. Not going to be using them again.

We moved into our new place three months ago, and slowly but surely noticed that the air quality in our house was a problem. After going through two air filters in a month, we realized that the HVAC system must not have been cleaned out in years (not to mention after the complete remodel prior to our purchase).

I reached out on Yelp and they got back to me in minutes. A quick phone call later we were scheduled and ready to go.

Within minutes after the friendly, informative crew was finished, we noticed a dramatic improvement in the air quality in our home. The guys were informative, clean, and upfront- no hidden costs or gimmicks.

I hope I don't have to use them again in the near future, but I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that does.

I'm just going to be honest...I have no idea if the price offered was competitive as I only called these guys. However, what I liked was I called later in the evening and received a phone call the next morning to schedule and they came out the following day (Saturday) to perform the work which was a dryer vent cleaning. The price on the website is $199 and that's what they charged. I'm so tired of getting the run around from service professionals and not even getting a call back that the speedy service was a pleasant surprise.

In search of someone to clean my condo and dryer vents, I went to Yelp and ran across Ugly Ductling. I made the appointment completely via email. They had the date I available I wanted them to come out, which was great. They arrived on time and called before they got to my place. The cleaning didn't take long, about 30-40m. They left my place in great condition and all the dust is now gone. Plus, they were super friendly. I highly recommend this company.

While finalizing the sale of my father's old house in Edison Park, the buyers requested to have the air ducts cleaned since the property sat vacant for over a year. Not wanting to lose the sale, I reached out to Ugly Ductling based on their stellar reviews and quick response rate. Literally within 2 minutes of me reaching out via Yelp for a quote, the owner Karl got back to me with pricing, a detailed explanation of their process, and was even able to work around my schedule to get the job done around some other work that was happening in the house.

The team that did the work was amazing, specifically their lead technician Chris. He explained everything that they would be doing that day to clean and sanitize the vents, and was so personable, professional, and respectful throughout the whole process.

By far the best experience I've had with a contractor... Every business on Yelp could take notes on how to treat their customers like Ugly Ductling. Highly recommended!

I hired Ugly Ductling to clean my vents and ducts and since they completed their work I've had problems with my furnace and dryer. I have never had issues with the furnace or dryer as both them are less than 5 years old. When trying to contact Ugly Ductling I would never get call backs to resolve the issues. I ended up having to hire a contractor to come out and fix my dryer which costed me $200+ on top of the Ugly Ductling fee. I would highly suggest that you consider other options. Ugly Ductling's workers were in and out of my unit so fast and didn't take their time in conducting the work right. They were more worried about getting to the next job than doing my the right way. Very disappointed. There are a lot of options in the Chicagoland area and you should definitely choose another.
