Really solid vietnamese restaurant with yummy cream puffs in west campus!! Workers are nice and pleasant. The inside is clean, simple, and has a ton of natural light from the tall windows.
The cream puffs were delicious and beautiful! Loved the strawberry one, which was drizzled in chocolate syrup. The pho here is also good with generous portions!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Isaiah B.Spring, TX062Apr 20, 2024
Good food, never had a bad meal here.
However the servers act like the napkins come out of their paychecks. Last time I was here me and my girlfriend asked for more napkins and they gave us one. A singular napkin. It happened again, so I thought I'd make note of it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 16, 2023
Pho was ok and broth didn't have much flavor . Maybe used to having flavored broth back home in San Antonio idk and not a lot of parking had to pay extra for parking in the garage. Inside was kind of small overall food was ok. Soup sounded good for a cold rainy day.

I unexpectedly found myself on UT campus a few of months ago and came across UTea Pho. I'm so glad I did! Since then, I've been back a several times and have had a chance to try several of their times, and I have to say that it never disappoints. My go-tos are the vermicelli bowls (lemongrass beef is delicious), the spring rolls (shrimp or pork), and of course the pho. Service has consistently been friendly and quick. The restaurant is clearly a favorite among students, as it is always busy and packed. The crowd is mellow and although it is a calm place even when it is a full day. Reservations are available if you want to save yourself a potential wait although we have yet to make one and have one had to wait a few minutes at most. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!

I think for a Viet place in West Campus, UTea Pho is not bad, but it's not high quality food. It's affordable and quick with a very convenient location right in the heart of West Campus. The seating is limited but they are quite free outside of dinner hours. We got a spot by the windows. Service is really friendly! And they give a free bottle of water.
I've gotten the egg noodles recently, and I like how they give a lot of protein, but the shrimp has been tough every time. The banh mi is all right as well.
I think the cream puffs are a hit or miss, but it's been a while since I've had one. They used to be good! I'll be back here because of the location most likely.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jun 14, 2022Previous reviewA humble Viet place in West Campus. Good location for students and affordable prices. The food and price is not bad at all! The quantity might not be as much as Madam Mam's down the street, but UTea Pho has faster and friendlier service.
The Shrimp Pad Thai ($11.95) was decent and spicy. I appreciated the large shrimp! Their banh mi ($6.50) is a great option too for something lighter. I liked how crispy the egg rolls were. They also have a variety of sweets, including boba and cream puffs (can be a hit or miss).
You'll have to find street parking. Seating is good for large groups. The TVs are a little distracting.
Overall, a decent spot to swing by for a casual meal. I'll be back! - Apr 27, 2023
UTea Pho is a convenient spot for food in West Campus, but I find it consistently mid. I've had their pho, Singapore noodle, pad thai, and wok on fire noodle. I would say they are all fine. I really enjoy their cream puff. I remember when they used to charge for water without telling us that they did, but now the first bottle is free at least. I organized a profit share here with my student organization and was successful.
My last visit, the service was a big issue. We waited an extremely long time for each order, especially the cream puff and my friend's Vietnamese coffee. About 20 minutes after he ordered the coffee with boba, he was informed that they had run out of boba. They also mixed up our checks, and we were only a group of three. The staff were uncomfortably standing at the counter and crowded right next to our table. The manager is so kind!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 7, 2023
Stopped by for lunch the other day and glad we did!
Service is quick and the restaurant itself is casual and clean.
We ordered the spring rolls, which were very generous servings. The sauce was a little more peanut heavy than I'm used to but it was very good nonetheless!
I ordered pho, which was also a generous portion that i managed to finish completely. My partner ordered a vermicelli bowl (lemongrass chicken i think?). It was delicious and I would definitely get that again.
Wish we had something like this place closer to us. Food is great and doesn't break the bank!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - J J.Fremont, CA460106172Oct 2, 2023
Our family came here late at night before its closing since there were not many options around, and everything was either met or exceeded our expectations.
We cared most about the food quality and the Pho was no exception. We ordered the fried rice for the kids and they finished it all.
Service was on point and the young male servers were really nice, chit chatted with us and make sure we got what we needed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Oct 15, 2023
Decent pho option that's close to campus --I ordered their meatball pho and their corn fritters, but they were a bit of a letdown. The corn fritter resembled more of a packaged nugget than the freshly fried corn fritters I expected. Overall, it was decent but didn't quite hit the mark for me. The pho broth could have been more flavorful, lacking that rich and aromatic depth that I've come to expect from a good bowl of pho, and the meatball itself was on the chewy side, and not in a pleasant way. Not sure if I would be back again, but it's good to know that there is a pho option near campus!
