Victory Van is the world's WORST company - avoid them at all costs.
We stored our 5-bedroom house's belongings with Victory for 11 years while we were overseas, latterly adding some items from my deceased parent's home in 2015 and 2018. In all, they were paid over $150,000 on this "service". On delivery, the crew badly mishandled several items, all captured photographically, and as we unpacked, a further disaster unfolded, also thoroughly photo documented. Stink bugs came crawling out from all over our mattresses and everything else. The insurance we paid for was "Full Value Protection." The claim documented 114 items either lost or damaged - including irreplaceable family heirlooms and very old English antiques. They even lost their file copy of our inventory. Further missing items came to light following the claim, and the Claims Attorney of Victory's insurer, Vanliner, wrote that they could be included in the settlement, but in the end she refused to honor that. The value of our claim was $72,855, amended to $75,347 and 124 items. The mover's truck also rutted our lawn and squashed the storm drain, which the driver tried to hide by kicking leaves over the damage, but was witnessed doing so.
At the end of 8 months of haggling and nit-picking by both Victory and Vanliner, we were forced to settle at $21,280. That is $54,046 less than the "full value" we had claimed and expected the insurance to cover - or 28 cents on the dollar. Vanliner and Victory claimed that self-destruction ("inherent vice" in their vocabulary, per the Vanliner Claims Attorney), not poor carrier handling, was the cause of much damage and disallowed or discounted many of those claimed items - notwithstanding photos showing clear mispacking and mishandling. They take the position that because we stored with them for such a long time, we must just expect that "accidents happen," per the Victory Claims Administrator - like precious, irreplaceable furniture items disappearing into thin air. Accident? Victory refused to allow us to search the warehouse with them. So what is a "safe" amount of time to store with them? They do not say, but we say to anyone reading this: NONE. We have moved many times domestically and foreign, but never have we encountered negligence this gross. RUN from this company. And if you are storing with them, get out now!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2 - Malcolm M.Arlington, VA571Jun 26, 2023
I waited for them for 12 hours at a storage unit while they kept bumping back the arrival time throughout the day.

My experience with Victory Van was terrible. I've moved a lot and know what a good move can be. There were no issues with punctuality. They arrived on schedule. However they destroyed several pieces of antique furniture and a persian rug and lost a treasured oil painting. Our belongings were in their storage facility before delivery to our new residence so I can't say where the damage occurred - in the warehouse? when reloading for delivery? We filed claims with the insurer which was an utter waste of time. They disallowed most of the damage. The furniture WAS older (that's why it's an antique - duh) but the insurer refused to pay for a few items that had "wear." Again, these are older pieces. They ripped the upholstery on a chair and refused to cover the cost of reupholstery because "then it would be better than it was." That's the only way to fix the damage they caused - I can't sew it back together. And the crew that unloaded us was the worst. It was obvious that all they wanted to do was get our belongings off as fast as possible and go home. Seriously, they were flinging things. Just do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I pretty much never do reviews, especially bad ones but I'd hate to think that another family would have the same experience.

Unfortunately, I had the horrible luck of having Allied Moving who I contracted with use these guys as their local agent. They made my move a nightmare and couldn't even get right what day we were supposed to get our cross country move. It was constantly digging through their lies and dealing with nonsense while everyone looks to cover their behinds. However while they play games your life is in disarray. Do not use this company and do not get stuck using them as I'm sure they work on the cheap. It shows. Awful.

Would give zero stars if possible.
I actually just called to get an estimate and decided to use a different company because the reviews for this company were so bad. I did not realize this before I called and I brought up the bad yelp reviews to Liz (the person I was connected to) and she just said, "okay, that's fine. Whatever". I would suggest going with a company that truly cares about customer service from the start. She just seemed very nonchalant about bringing in new business and trying to attain me as a customer.
You should also know that you will not get a final price until they are done with your move. I think that's crazy because they can charge any price they want to in the end.
All in all, my first impression of this company was not a positive one. I would suggest having individuals that answer your phones, be a little more polite and ready to gain new business. Also, giving prices upfront would be another strong suggestion.
Update-Go anywhere else!
I provided all of the answers to the questions that were asked. The minimal information that you are speaking of was the information that you requested. All in all, experience was awful. Luckily, there was a moving company, with spectacular customer service, that completed my move and earned their FIVE-STAR rating!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Jennifer - Our customer service team prides itself on providing the best help and service in the industry. I'm very sorry your perception of the experience was negative however it was challenging to give you a "firm" quote with the minimal details provided to us. We did explain that a local move was priced hourly - $150 per hour for three men with a 4 hour minimum. Our customer service team also told you that in order to give you a guaranteed cost, it would be best to have someone do a survey of your home - either a virtual survey or in-person. With the little information we had, the closest estimate we could give was 5-7 hours due to the fact that your condo is on the third floor and there isn't an elevator.
We have worked hard on the feedback provided to us in past reviews and always go above and beyond for our customers.
Good luck with your move. Suzanne, VP MarketingMar 25, 2019Previous reviewWould give zero stars if possible.

This is a review for Victory Van's records storage service, which was truly abysmal! If I could give them zero stars I would have. Terrible communication (we never knew what was going on, and repeated emails, phone calls, etc. went unanswered). Expensive and crappy service, and our records literally held hostage for money that our contract did not require us to pay them. They are extortionists. Employ Victory Van at your peril.

Full disclosure - we only had our things packed and stored, so I can't comment on the quality of the packing/whether items were broken.
Jacob, Juan and Nora packed up our home yesterday and we're awesome. Fast, friendly, and super efficient. They took great care wrapping everything and were a pleasure to have in our home.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brianna T.DC, DC397May 31, 2018
HORRIBLE!!!!!!!
We got placed with this company through a military move. They came a day later than they were supposed to, pushing back our move. They were rude and lazy. The female packer of the three was either flirting or on her phone the entire time. And after 10 hours they still weren't finished with the job. Which pushed back our move even more bc they had to return the next day.
Fast forward and we didn't get a call from them until 2pm. TWOOOOO. And when they showed up, it ended up being a single person and a small VAN!!!! We walked her around to show her everything that was left behind. She looked us dead in the face and said she couldn't pack our vacuum?! Uh, no...figure it out bc you're packing it!
Unbelievable. We are for sure contacting the liaison between military families and these movers to make sure this company is never used again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Peaceful M.Rancho Cucamonga, CA283174706Mar 11, 2018
Allied, Victory Van & Berger are a ripoff. I thought I said it all yesterday but I had to update my review these people are a crazy. I spoke to Stephanie yesterday who told me that the price was discounted and now they only wanted $23,000 (original total was $16K) then this afternoon after calling 3-4 times (to pay the $23k)with no answer Stephanie sends me an invoice that says $32,055.67 after I questioned that she said that is what it should have been but now the total is $24,0355. These people take advantage of people!!! Wow unbelievable!

As a Marine Corps family we have moved several times, and I am very aware at how stressful a move can be, but the Victory Van experience left me worry free from the first day I made a call to their offices. I had two storage units, and piano to move and the Victory Van staff handled everything. They were helpful, competent, enthusiastic and very prepared for every eventuality. Not only did we use them to move us into our new home but when my father passed away, my mother needed to move from her home to a condo, and I knew I could count on and trust Victory Van for the job. Victory Van made moving, a very stressful experience for us all, easier than it has ever been and I would recommend the company to anyone.
