Vn Express

The pho is great. Flavorful, clear n light. Medium to small sized noodles.... a must get. Nine dollar for the pho with additional add ons. This can be pricey cause I want all the add ons. Ox tail was good; I ate it to the bones. The rice noodles (bun) were average tasting with small size shrimp. Food came out quick. Good service.

Small place; about alittle over dozen or so for seating.

The egg rolls were fantastic! Would definitely get them again.

The sesame chicken was pretty bland. The sweet and sour chicken was also pretty plain. No peppers or anything.

I like ordering was a breeze and pickup worked great.

So my significant other and I finally got to try VN Express and I have to say I'm impressed. It's small inside so definitely not ideal for bigger groups, I guess that's the reason for express in the name. My other half and I ordered pho, and spring rolls. She had beef and I had chicken and shrimp pho. I had a bottle of water and she had Vietnamese coffee that she said was wonderful. The staff were really helpful and greeted us with smiles.

We were served by Bonnie, even though she was busy with call in orders and helping the cooks in the back she still made time to check in on us. We dined in and we liked what they did with the space. The bathroom was clean and this place has a lot of potential. The one thing that blew me away is that they only have pork spring rolls and I do not eat pork or beef. Bonnie came to the rescue and made me some shrimp spring rolls which really made me feel special.

I can honestly say I have never been to a place that was so caring and eager to make the customers feel special. My girlfriend ordered their wings the next day photo not included because they were so good we devoured them before we had the chance. They have a lot of other things that I am excited to try also, so we will return, thanks Bonnie and VN Express!!!

I spotted this place as I drove by this fairly new strip mall. The next time I had an urge for Vietnamese food I phone in an order for Bun with grilled pork and thrilled with the fresh, large serving of food I received.

One word.....FIYAH it's so flavorful!! The neighboring Vietnamese restaurants need to take notes!! This oxtail pho is Everything!! The oxtail tender,meaty,falling off the bones! And they weren't stingy either,3 nice ones and the eggrolls?! Whole nother post for those! Go try them now!!

Delicious, fast, and tasted fresh vs other Asian takeout I've had. Spicy chicken was banging, egg rolls are massive and crispy, and the cream cheese wontons are easily the best I've had in the area. Great takeout and an awesome addition to a growing group of ethnic restaurants in Woodbury.

For other reviewers knocking the restaurant for not tasting authentic or like "my mom used to make", kick rocks. People love to put down small businesses and then are upset when they don't have ethnic cuisine outside of the Twin Cities. If you want to be supportive, write constructive feedback specific to a dish vs peanut buttering comments about the whole restaurant.

Ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and Pork Bahn Mi for takeout. The chicken Lo Mein had great flavor, the chicken was tender and good quality. Very impressed the the amount of fresh vegetables and cooked to perfection.

The pork Bahn Mi had a good amount of pork that had been grilled. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft in the inside. Excellent flavor. Highly recommend the Bahn Mi and hard to find them in or close to Woodbury.

Overall a great dinner and wonderful addition to the Lake Elmo/Woodbury area. We need more great Asian restaurants and this is one of them!!

Having a window open to the kitchen is a good thing for customers. We ordered a banh mi and a bun salad. They were OK at best, lacking flavor and freshness.
The high point was as we finished we looked into the kitchen and watched four of the five people working reaching into the food line and stuffing food into their mouths. Some were gloved and others not, but it really didn't matter since they wore the same gloves (or not) to serve up the next order. Oh...you have add that one of the kitchen people would wipe their nose and mouth on their hand as they served up food.
A food inspector would have shut them down on the spot.

We had the state, fair eggrolls, wings, cream cheese wontons, bahn mi, and chicken pho.

The eggrolls were so crispy, and the filling was so delicious. The wings were awesome. The cream cheese wontons are the best in town, and the bahn mi was absolutely stellar.

The pho was good but just not has great as the other items I listed. I thought the staff was super nice and was working hard the whole time we were there.

Would highly recommend.
