If you have a trade-in, do your homework and bring your own valuations for your vehicle. DO NOT trust the one they show you -- they likely put in the base model. They pulled this on us and came up with a number way less than our Passat's actual value. I pointed out that their KBB appraisal conveniently didn't specify a trim, and they assured me it was our trim. Ok sure, I trust you, salesman. Luckily we ran the CORRECT appraisal earlier that day and knew how much it was actually worth.
Even worse, we were unsuccessful in negotiating whatsoever. Any dealer who is not willing to be reasonable and work with you on the price is a no-go for me. Not only that, but we had to wait three months for the car we wanted to come in, and it was going to have ventilated seats deleted because apparently they were all like that, or so our lovely salesman told us.
We ended up going to VW or Orland Park, who not only had the exact same model coming in which included ventilated seats, but were able to get it next-day AND offered us thousands more for our trade-in than even KBB valued it at.
Volkswagen of Mount Prospect is a prime example of why people despise car dealerships. Do yourself a favor and don't give them your business.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Samantha R.Chicago, IL1621210Dec 22, 2023
Horrifying customer service with a manager, who literally could care less about his customers is highly suggest going to any other dealership. This place is awful.

Bought a car from this place when it was in Mount Prospect. They were fine during the purchase process. I have tried to get them to sign the tax document 4 times. I always get the run around.
Very simple request. It is one signature.
I would not buy from this place. They will sell you but not support you.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jack R.Barrington, IL031Dec 26, 2022
Amazing experience, love the new 2021 Jetta I bought from Erik and with the help of the store manager Patrick. Patrick was a very friendly guy and made the whole car buying experience a lot easier than previously at motorwerks. I've see a lot of 1 star reviews and I honestly have no clue who helped those people but I would buy a car from here in a second!

Please avoid this dealership. The lack of integrity and dishonesty by the staff and sales manager is alarming.
After reviewing Certified Pre-owned vehicles on VW's website, my son and I saw that Napleton's VW had the car we were looking for at a relatively competitive price. After driving to the dealership, inspecting the car, and test driving it, we were prepared to make a cash offer on the vehicle.
However, the best price offered for the vehicle was more than price advertised on VW's website. When I raised this discrepancy to the sales person, he informed me that VW's site was incorrect and that they don't use that site despite the VIN number being identical on the car and it being a. VW site. We then asked to engage with the manager, who stated that they did not have to honor an advertised price on VW's site. The screenshot of VW's pricing was shown to the sales manager and the pricing offered below in green writing was not only higher but, as usual, was hidden with costs.
This appears to be deceptive advertising practice - especially given that they had listed the specific car, by VIN number, on VW's site.
Sadly, this was my son's first car buying experience having just graduated college. The lack of integrity shown by the Sales Manager only reinforces why car dealers enjoy such a poor reputation. However, it provided him an exceptional lesson in poor business practices. This all said, we went to another VW dealer later in the day, dealt with an honorable sales staff and management team, and purchased a ca
I have contacted the dealer's holding company and will forward a formal letter of complaint.
UPDATE: After leaving messages with Napleton's corporate office - customer service - I have yet to hear back. This only reinforces my experience.
Finally, and most alarming, this practice may violate Illinois law:

I bought a used VW rabbit 2007 just before the pandemic, recently got a flat tire, and found I did not have the tool for the locking lug nut. After a bad experience at a closer VW dealer (Jennings, in Glenview), I talked to their parts department, described the tool (number of points) and bought it from them. This review is about the parts department only. They moved from Mount prospect in the last year.

MORE THAN AMAZED AND EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THIS LOCATIONS SERVICE CENTER!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!
I've owned 4 Volkswagen's over the last 10 years and almost every service center experience I've had has been atrocious or awkward, at the very least!
Having previously worked at a VW service Center, I understand the politics. But when service writers talk down to, blatantly attempt to misinform and threaten customers of receiving some sort of Warranty violation or demerit for not performing services after a simple winter wheel/tire swap (Same rolling diameter and height as stock set up). (Jennings VW Cough* Cough*) That's where I draw the line and that's just one of many issues, I've experienced.
When a service is undeniably and genuinely needed, is the only time it should be recommended.
Speaking of genuine... Charlene, Mark Michael, Rocko and the rest of the service team, over at Napleton's Volkswagen of Mount Prospect are without a doubt, a prime example of a wonderful group of people that not only provide thorough and exceptional vehicle service. They provide an excellent, friendly and professional customer service experience! My wife took my car in for me a few times to a few different dealerships including Napleton's.. When I spoke with her after her first Napleton's visit, she literally said yeah.... You're only going in there from now on! Haha
Thank you Charlene, Mark, Michael, Rocko and the rest of Napleton's VW service team! It's always a pleasure!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Robert C.West Palm Beach, FL0102Aug 24, 2022
Went to talk about a used vehicle they have and was told it hasn't been inspected. Was then told by Patrick S. next week he will call me to see what they found. Hasn't called and price has increased around $2500. Don't trust them they can't even get their business hours correct. STAY AWAY........

I didn't a purchase a vehicle from this dealership, but I had a horrible experience about a year ago when all I wanted to do was purchase an additional remote key for my 2009 VW Jetta.
I was aware ahead of time that the key would be a bit pricey and would take time to code, but I (incorrectly) assumed that VW technicians would have reasonable knowledge regarding what's involved in the process -- I'm not an expert, but to be told by the technician that there "isn't any coding involved" when I know enough about VWs and VCDS coding to know that was an outright lie wasn't a good sign, but I still gave them the benefit of the doubt, being a dealership service center.
Left the dealership and a few hours later found that my door switches for my fuel tank and trunk release stopped working and on my remote, the unlock button also released the trunk and the trunk release button didn't work. Brought the car back to the dealership the next day and the technician took almost half a day to inspect it, only to come back and tell me I needed to buy a new comfort control module and, with labor, it would cost me about $2000!! I told them it was likely a coding issue and was again told that there "isn't any coding involved."
I finally had the issue resolved for a few hundred dollars at another service center when getting other repairs done -- the owner let me know that they had their usual VCDS coding tech that stops in about once a week resolve the issue in less than 15 minutes. Too bad I had to pay more to get the problem resolved than I did for the combined cost of the remote key and coding!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jack F.SoMa, San Francisco, CA91May 26, 2022
had my coolant pump replaced in august 2020 ( a new pump should last 60,000 to 100,000 miles) the "new one" lasted 20,000miles !! and when i took my car in for service not only was i treated unprofessionally they tried charging me 2,000$ i immediately called another VW location and got a price of 900$ which is still ridiculous the new part didnt even make it to half its expected life. after an all day affair of phone tag w/ Paul the "manager" they were able to replace for the 900$. i then pick my car up to fined that there was gum on my floor carpet and my car was not washed. terrible experience go ANYWHERE else!!!!!!!
