Q:
Do you need to make reservation?
A:
If you're having lunch during the week the answer is no. Lunch on the weekend may be crowded, so the answer is yes. If you're going for dinner, I would advise making a reservation.

Wadatsumi has quickly become our go-to spot for a traditional Japanese meal
I find it to be very reasonably priced for the quality of food. I've been for a few dinners and just had lunch there today. The lunch menu is a smaller segment of their dinner menu but still offers good variety. Also will try to visit for lunch more often as it's several bucks cheaper
Service is expedient & the food comes out relatively quickHelpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 5, 20241 check-in
I hadn't been here since Covid. I do t recall it being as pricy as it is, but the quality is good and it is totally authentic
The beef bowl was very good. Surprising that they serve it with wasabi
The chirashi bowl, which apparently is their lunch special , is a combo of various seafoods. It was fine, I think I should have just got the maguro bowl instead but I'm glad I tried it
The lunches come with a small bowl of miso soup and a small salad. The salads have a miso dressing , quite tasty
It's quite a nice interior and has some individual booths
The wait staff were super attentive and very efficientHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shaun S.Torrance, CA43494451Mar 13, 2024
Love this place! Tried a bunch of things and liked EVERYTHING. Didn't get to try the populR chirsashi bowl, got to get that at lunch time before it sells out.
Service was quick and so was the food. Will definitely be backHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 18768294Mar 1, 2024
Food: solid place if you're looking for a good bowl of rice with sashimi on top. I came here multiple times, even during covid when I had to sit outside. The last time I came was with my bf, the very night that he asked me to be his gf teehee :3 he was so nervous the whole dinner and so cute, but that's besides the point haha. I usually order a variant of bluefin tuna or salmon, and I've got no complaints, the fish is always high quality, and the white rice is always warm and tastes freshly made. Make sure you drizzle with soy sauce as you work your way down the bowl. Like I said, this place is solid, but not quite mindblowing or unique.
Price: $20-25 per bowl depending on the type of fish, a bit pricy but they give decent amount of sashimi, so I'd say it's relatively reasonable. I do wish they were just a little more generous with the sashimi though haha
Ambiance: nice dimly lit interior with bar area and about 8 ish tables inside. Came here on multiple occasions, lunch with mom, dinner hangout with friend, and of course date night with my bf
Service: great, nice and friendly, no complaints at all
Parking: located in the far corner of a huge plaza that contains 85C bakery and kanghodong baekjung and many others, plenty of outdoor free parking, no trouble finding an available spotHelpful 5Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - 25288202Mar 2, 2024
Came in for a weekend lunch!
I had heard from a local that this spot was her fave spot for sushi so once in town, I had to try it!
There was a bit of a wait for 2 but otherwise not horrible. The service is also really sweet and attentive!
Fresh Yuba (4/5) - It was refreshing but otherwise not very flavorful. I don't know if that's just maybe how yuba is but it was an interesting dish to try out!
Baya Chirashi (5/5) - We were able to share it between 2 - not being full but satisfied. The fish is fresh and it comes with fresh ikura too so that's a plus
Overall I'd like to try out more places next time I'm in town, but if looking/recommending a solid sushi spot in Torrance I'd try WadamatsuHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 17, 20241 check-in
We came for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy probably about 70% full. We ordered the deluxe assorted kaisendon, curry with rice, and the daily special fried oysters set. Overall the food tasted fine, sashimi was fresh and I liked the curry flavor it was rich and savory. All of us overate our share of white rice (free refill) to actually feel satiated because there weren't as much of anything else (esp the seafood). The Kaisendon had a huge space just filled with lots and lots of ginger. Including tax and tip, our total was a little over $90.
We're glad we tried it, but unlikely to come back.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 27, 2024
Delicious and great experience! I got to try this restaurant since I was visiting a friend in Culver City.
I got the kaiseki don because their chirashi was already sold out. At $28 you get one piece of many different cuts. My favorites were the amaebi (sweet shrimp), roe, salmon, and there were a few I couldn't identify but were very yummy!
The quality of fish here is real quite nice - everything tastes extremely fresh. You can actually taste the difference in freshness and quality. Even their rice tastes exceptionally good. My only dislike was that the fish was cut pretty small for my bowl - there wasn't even much rice. I did not feel completely satiated after just my bowl plus a miso soup.
Service here is really friendly and fast. The food comes out in around 10 minutes. Restroom is pretty clean. There is a large shared parking lot with free parking. There's bar and table seating and they have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 26, 2024
This was the first time dining here for our group of five. We were seated in the private dining room. The service was excellent and the meal choices fantastic. Nothing left over by anyone.
I had the sashimi assortment and loved it. Presentation was exquisite and the taste perfect. Not a large luncheon meal. I would have liked more. But it was a good value. My other guests dined on various sushi bowels.
Parking outside is spacious. The hostess was really sweet and took us right to our table. This may have been our first time here, but certainly not the last.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 187332815Mar 9, 20241 check-in
I'm trying another restaurant in L.A serving up a special scallop dish this month at Wadatsumi! This place is known for their great quality seafood, and I love how they brought out the flavors of the scallop in these dishes. The Shumai came with a huge piece of scallop on top, and I love how they give you a side of mustard. The Hotate Kobujime Carpaccio was super tasty and light, and we had it with the recommended sake pairing as well, making our meal that much better.

This restaurant offers plenty of seating and welcomes walk-ins during weekdays, making it easy to visit on a whim. The place is vibrant and arguably the best spot in the Torrance area for authentic Japanese cuisine at reasonable prices. I had the Shirasu Ikura Don, Roast Beef Don, a seafood bowl, and curry. Although primarily a sake bar, it serves substantial meals that are highly recommendable. A must-visit for anyone craving genuine Japanese flavors!
