Great experience. Didn't feel pressured to get the most expensive frames or lenses. They were very helpful throughout the process.

This is a new location for Warren Eye Care (yes, the name tells you their previous location).
I first became aware of them because I bought Google Glass and they were listed as one of the few places that would fill a prescription to fit their lenses.
After one visit, I moved myself and my family from another local business to this place for all of our eyecare and glasses needs.
The owner Michael Kim is a pleasure to deal with, he is warm, friendly, respectful and has a great sense of humor and best of all, he really knows his business. He has a few different eye doctors that are there at different days of the week and it isn't difficult to get an appointment. His shop is always spotless, I honestly wish that most restaurants had a public bathroom as clean as his.
Michael is one of those business professionals that I trust completely. He is quick to tell me that I really should spend a few extra dollars to get something that will make me happy and just as quick to tell me that my prescription hasn't changed much and I probably can wait a bit longer for new glasses and save some money. His wife Gina is a lovely woman and very friendly and the eye doctors he has working for him are both great.
The shop is large, clean and has a very nice selection and Michael is a master of his trade, when he takes measurements and mounts your lenses in the frames you pick, the work is perfect and he treats you as if you're his only customer and wants to make a great impression.
When we visit, I bring my wife and daughter and are usually there for a while picking out frames and seeing the optometrist and I see how happy his customers are when dealing with this business.
TLTR - I went here with reservations as I already had a place and felt bad about going to another business, but the care and service here is unparalleled! They easily made me and my family customers for life.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 7, 2015Previous reviewMichael is one of the nicest businessman I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He is kind, thoughtful and very helpful. I only originally went there as they supported Google Glass but liked the service so much, the whole family has started going there.
I'm really at a loss why the other review was so unfavorable, but I've got nothing but praise for this business. - Frank B.Far Hills, NJ0194May 19, 2021
This is my first time using this optometrist and from this initial experience I will definitely use Michael Kim again. They have a great variety of frames and he was able to explain my options based on my rather demanding vision prescription.
I expected the glasses to take a couple of weeks as they generally have in the past from 'chain' opticians so I was surprised when they were ready after only 3 business days. Michael does not send out the prescriptions, doing the 'grinding' himself; the result was a perfect set that take no adjusting to. And the glasses and frames come with exceptional guarantees ...
Michael and his wife are warm and friendly to do business with so I and glad to be able to echo the positive findings others have written before me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carolee A.Dunellen, NJ36213Jun 30, 2018

I went to Warren Eye Care to get a routine eye check up and while the exam was perfectly fine, the prescription I received was written extremely confusing and not like your typical eye prescription with the grids telling you what number is for which one. I planned on getting my glasses through another service online because, being uninsured, I could not afford the frames in the store being upwards of hundreds of dollars. I am a relatively new eyeglass wearer and was unsure on what glasses to purchase/how to read my prescription. When I called the office to get clarification, I was approach with such an incredibly rude tone, blaming me for all of my mistakes and saying that it was my fault that I messed up reading the prescription because I chose to purchase my frames elsewhere. On top of that, I was asking for clarification on a specific question and the man on the phone just repeated it back to me as if that would suffice for my answer. The conversation was incredibly frustrating, and the man on the other end was so so so rude (he even raised his voice at me). I will not be returning to this place because of its lack of human decency in regard to its customer service. If anything, I am more confused leaving the conversation than I was entering it. It was a waste of money going to that place if I can't even read my prescription let alone receive help deciphering it.

I used both the optometrist and eye care specialist from Warren Eye Care. They are both pleasant and available. Michael is helpful and has a small to medium size selection of basic frames. However, if you need something complicated, go somewhere else, Measurements for glasses and prescriptions are taken with a ruler and a magic marker. Michael manually marks the frames and lenses with a sharpie to accept your prescription. It is very rudimentary and imprecise. I am just getting reading glasses but this would not work well for bi-focals
I suspect the volumes are low because it takes 2 weeks to get the glasses back (despite a 1 week estimate)- so if you need a replacement pair- this may not be the place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie T.Union, NJ1033Feb 18, 2016
Good for eye exams. Charges medical fee (specialist fee) aside from eye exam fee for minor medical concerns you may have. Better off going to an ophthalmologist where you can get medical advice and an eye exam for the same price. Maybe it's just me but that's what I think.

Today I called to find out when my eyeglass prescription expired. They told me it was expired (it wasn't) and that NJ state law mandates that eyeglass prescriptions expire in twelve months. This is not true. While it's true that annual exams are recommended they are not required and I do not appreciate being deceived. I called Costco (where I had recently purchased glasses) to confirm that my prescription was not expired. Lying about the expiration of my prescription to fool me into getting another exam is paramount to theft in my book. I rarely write negative reviews, but BEWARE.

This is my second visit to this place and so far I do not have any complaints on Dr. Repair and Michael. I had a pretty lengthy visit with Dr. Repage and he went through a few options with contacts. Michael went through my insurance coverage and let me know how much would be covered. The only gripe I have is that the walls to the examination room do not go up to the ceiling. As such, other customers/patients could easily hear confidential conversations.

Unbelievably BAD! My wife was examined, told them it was not correct. After having her wait 20 minutes while another patient was examined, my wife was told "You said it was good." She responded, "No, I said it was better than the first lens you tried."
At this point glasses were made according to the incorrect prescription, which was obvious as soon as she put them on.
After being treated somewhat rudely, and incorrectly diagnosed, my wife left the new glasses at the store since they were not the correct prescription. We asked Warren Eye Care to reinstate our insurance benefits so she could go elsewhere (this was our first...AND LAST...experience with Warren Eye Care) and start all over.
Michael refused to reinstate the benefit. They did refund the over charges, but probably because that was on American Express and Warren Eye Care knew they would lose that battle. I have now asked my insurance company to step in, but until that process is complete, I now need to pay out of pocket for a correct examination and glasses.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
