Empanadas are all the rage in Argentina and most of South America, including Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. This made us think: why not the US too? It's simple: our hand made empanadas are all natural with no preservatives or additives. We use No colorings or fillers, and our empanadas are baked fresh every day! There are (4) major Empanada groups: Veggie Meat Vegan Sweet Some of the yummiest meat empanadas have fresh Chicken and fresh Beef. We also Chefs have Spicy Santa Fe Chicken! Because we're mindful of all palates, we also have some mouth-watering Vegan options like our mushroom and Chefs homemade cashew cheese empanada, and our Spicy Potato empanada. They're so good you can literally eat it in one bite (ok maybe not, unless you're an alligator). As for the Sweets, we have a Mixed Berries (Vegan) empanada and a Nutella with Banana empanada. Those are your (2) sweet empanada, and they'll all make you salivate. The hipster community (is that a thing?) has totally fallen in love with empanadas, and we're on a mission to make the Empanada the next cross-over craze (we were inspired by the mighty Burrito). Come check us out in #Burbank!…

World Empanadas serves up hand sized empanadas that are nicely filled with meat and wrapped well in a toasted yet tender empanada. You order at the window and will need to wait about 8 minutes or so. There are two tables outside if you're looking for some seating.

The chile con carne had a flavorful, moist meat alongside some beans. While prices have increased over years to $5 each it's still a good amount of quality food that's filling for the price.

My sister, daughter, and I enjoyed a lunch here yesterday. My sister and I each got a lunch special which came with 2 empanadas, a side (we got salad), and a drink (we got hibiscus tea which was a $1 up charge.)

      We got:
      - Chicken pot pie - it had good flavor, but didn't taste like pot pie to me. It wasn't bad though.
      - Biscuits and gravy - my sister liked it. I didn't have that one
      - Southwestern chicken (I forgot the name but it was something like that - This was tasty with a little but of spice.

The salad was just spinach and shredded carrots. Fortunately the house made dressing was good. It has a unique flavor, it was tangy with a little sweetness. I just wish the salad had a little more too it, especially since I'm not a huge raw spinach fan. But my daughter who barely eats salad are multiple bites, so that was a win.

The chimmichuri was different than what I've had in the past. It was watery and more red than what I've had in the past. But it was still good.

The hibiscus tea was delicious. I don't like super sweet tea, so I asked for a cup of water to go with it, just in case. But it wasn't totally necessary. The Jamaica had the right combination of spices and flavors that I really enjoyed. I did end up using the water since I'm more of an unsweetened tea fan though.

I'd like to go back and try some other flavors. Parking was easy at the time of day that we went. We just parked up the street, there are no meters.

We were very excited to try these empanadas. I love the thoughtful variety of flavors like savory meat and Vegan as well as dessert options. The service is great and you can tell they care about their food. My issue is with the dough to filling ratio. I found too much breading which made each empanada heavier than I'm used to in my empanadas. Bonus is if you're in a hurry to feel full, their empanadas will do the trick. I don't like feeling heavy after. I also found the dough for the dessert empanada very heavy and not sweet. A big carbo with sweetness experience. The presentation of the food is charming however.

Was meeting a friend at geeky teas down the road and wanted a quick bite before hand. Got the pepperoni and cheese, and the biscuits and gravy empanadas. Both were excellent. The green salsa had a nice tangy, very mildly smoky flavor, the heat was mild enough that it shouldn't bother most who are sensitive to spicy foods. Food came out fast. They even gave me a sample of their pasta which they make there. I'm pretty picky when it comes to pasta and I wasn't necessarily won over by it, but they give you a giant cup of it which seems like a good value for the price.

Quick lunch at World Empanadas. Huge fan of empanadas so had to stop by for lunch. I had driven by numerous times pondering.

I found the empanadas filled very nicely. Based on reviews from Google and Yelp and selected the biscuits and gravy and Santa Fe chicken empanadas. Both were excellent choices! Seating was not ideal but there is some in the back patio. Overall a place worth revisiting.

Driving back to LA from Sequoia and needed a lunch break.

Stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon.
PARKING - street parking. So be prepared for some parallel parking

Restaurant front is street-side. You order from the street side and have the option to walk around the order to the back patio. That is what we ended up doing because we had our dog.

FOOD - empanadas were yummy! The options were unique and I was hungry, so wanted to order one of each (but obviously didn't). Because each of our empanadas were different, I wish they somehow differentiated each one. We ended up taking a bite of each to figure out which is which and how to distribute. Also for the side, I'd go with the tortilla soup (although it was hot), over the side salad. Side salad was just salad mix with a vinaigrette. Their sauces were pretty good too. They offer salsa, salsa verde, chimichurri. It's also nice that they offer vegetarian and vegan options.

PRICE - a little on the pricey side. A la carte per empanada is like $4.40 each. Combo of 2 empanadas, side, and drink is $12.

SERVICE - the workers here are all very friendly and helpful. Made sure to tell us to ask questions if we had any, good vibes from each of them, and when bringing to the back patio to give our food, was conversational with us and our dog.

AMBIANCE - Seemed like they had a decent line of people who were ordering or waiting to pick up a curbside order. Their back patio came in clutch since we wanted to eat outside our car since we were in the middle of a road trip.

Overall, if I see myself again in the area, I'd be back to try the other empanada options.

      1 check-in

Our first time here and these empanadas were really good. They're right on a fairly busy road with little seating besides order food almost like take out and then eat them. The empanadas were freshly baked with awesome ingredients. I'd say the best ones I've had. And they were very reasonably priced to boot.

They have vegan and vegetarian options so that's a plus!

They only have a pick-up window so it is all to go orders. I have passed by here so many times, but I finally tried it out. Creamy corn was HOTT when I bit into it, but so good. I enjoyed the chicken one as well. I had the spinach/feta and I think I was thinking of this filling in a dessert form when there's more feta than spinach so when I bit into it I was surprised. All of it was piping hot and fresh. I would absolutely come back again.

Incredible. Every single time. Yet, unsure why it's always more expensive than it shows on the menu lol. Either way: I'll never stop coming here.
